We’re proud to welcome The British Compressed Air Society (BCAS) as our newest Corporate Partner. Together, we’re championing training, safety, and technical excellence in the compressed air sector.
The Society of Operations Engineers (SOE) is pleased to welcome The British Compressed Air Society (BCAS) as its newest Corporate Partner, a collaboration that will strengthen professional development, technical training, and industry standards across the compressed air and vacuum sectors.
Founded in 1930, The British Compressed Air Society is the UK’s only technical trade association open to manufacturers, distributors, and end users of compressors, vacuum pumps, pneumatic tools, and allied products. For nearly a century, BCAS has served as a respected industry voice, providing independent guidance on legislation, safety, compliance, and technical standards.
BCAS supports its members through a wide range of specialist training courses, tailored for both suppliers and users of compressed air and vacuum systems. By partnering with SOE, these courses will now benefit from formal accreditation, helping to boost the credibility of BCAS training and provide recognised pathways for engineers to progress professionally.
As part of the partnership, eligible professionals completing BCAS training programmes will be able to achieve postnominal recognition from SOE, such as EngTech, IEng or CEng status, validating their technical competence and commitment to continued learning. This joint initiative will further reinforce the value of skills development and professional recognition in the engineering community.
This partnership marks a significant step forward in aligning technical training with professional standards and reflects the shared mission of SOE and BCAS: to support engineers with the tools, recognition, and knowledge they need to thrive.
